On 13 September 2026, the Main Beach Street Festival brought music, dance and fashion to Tedder Avenue from 1 to 6 pm. Entry was free, and the local restaurants were part of the occasion. That edition has ended. A table on Tedder was a good place to begin an afternoon that could move between lunch and a performance.
For Contessa guests, Tedder is a five-minute walk from the residence. The official 2026 festival information included stage times and a food map. Those records describe the finished Sunday, not a schedule for another year.
Start with the table
The 2026 food map gave twenty local businesses a place in the day. Among them were Bar Ricci, listed as a modern Italian restaurant; Xenia Grill, for Greek meze; and Birdcage Dining Room & Bar. For something smaller, the map also included Main Beach Bakery, Dipcro Pastry and Rose Gelateria.
Together, those names offered a shortlist for a group. A lunch booking suited anyone who wanted to sit down before the stage programme gathered pace. A pastry or gelato stop left more of the afternoon open for wandering. With several generations together, agreeing on a meal first was easier than choosing while everyone watched something different.
The 2026 map asked visitors to book ahead and warned that business hours and offers varied. For any future Tedder lunch, check directly with the restaurant for its current service, menu and table availability. The festival food map is a record of that day, not a current list of offers.
With younger children, families could eat in Contessa’s apartment kitchen before setting out, then make a bakery or gelato stop the food part of their 2026 visit. The advertised kids zone and car display gave them somewhere to explore after eating, without asking children to sit through a long lunch and a full afternoon of music.
Fashion first, or music later
There were two natural ways to shape the 2026 afternoon. An early lunch put visitors on Tedder for Jamie Lamont at 1.05 pm and Sambalicious at 1.45 pm, followed by the GC Fashion Project Show & DJ Aloopa at 2.10 pm. That sequence gave a little of everything without staying until close.
Others made lunch the longer part of the day and joined the stage programme at 3.15 pm for Xenia Zorba Dance. The Goodrich Band started its first set at 3.30 pm, the ABBA Girls Tribute Show followed at 4.30 pm, and Goodrich returned at 5 pm before the 6 pm finish.

The walk home, and arrival-day details
Walking from the residence avoided looking for festival parking. The 2026 organiser FAQs warned that spaces around the venue were limited. That day’s closure notice covered Tedder Avenue between Hughes and Cronin avenues from 7 am–9 pm, with car park closures from 6 am. Those restrictions have passed and should not be used for a future visit.
