By Sunday evening, the 2026 Gold Coast Show had given the Coast a full, sunny weekend. Broadwater Parklands was busy with people moving between rides, showbags, displays, food stalls and fireworks. It was loud, cheerful and well attended, then over as quickly as the last weekend of August.
The next one is already in the diary. The organisers have announced that the Gold Coast Show returns from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 August 2027. Save the dates from the official Gold Coast Show announcement, and begin with the part of the trip that can be decided now: where you will stay.
Choose the apartment before the itinerary
Contessa presents every holiday apartment by number, with its own photographs. You choose the exact residence rather than a generic room category. That makes early planning useful, particularly when a family or group wants to compare layouts and settle on one address together.
Every apartment is 178 square metres or larger, with two bathrooms, a full kitchen, an in-apartment laundry and a private balcony. The open-plan living area is air-conditioned, while the bedrooms have ceiling fans. There is room to unpack properly, wash the day’s clothes and sit down for breakfast before heading out again.
The Gold Coast Show describes an event bringing more than 140,000 visitors together. You do not need the complete program to know that accommodation deserves an early decision. Reserve the apartment while you can compare the available choices, then refine the weekend as official details arrive.
Give the weekend two kinds of water
The Show supplies the crowds and colour. Main Beach supplies the hours around it. Contessa sits on the river side of the suburb, set in two acres of landscaped gardens with a marina behind the building. The beach is across the road, and Tedder Avenue is a five-minute walk away.
That leaves several ways to shape three nights without depending on a timetable that does not yet exist. Take an early walk on the sand. Keep one morning free for the outdoor pool or the indoor heated pool. Return from the day’s outing for the indoor or outdoor spa and a quiet dinner from the apartment kitchen. The Show can take a full day without taking over the whole stay.
Wait for the 2027 details
The dates are confirmed, but the organiser has not yet published the 2027 venue, program, entry arrangements or daily times. Broadwater Parklands has been the Show’s home since 2018, so a return looks likely, but it is not yet confirmed. From there, the grounds sit a short drive north of Contessa, while the G:link is about a 15-minute walk from the building. Contessa also has free undercover basement parking with no booking required.
Treat those transport options as a starting point, not a finished plan. Check the organiser’s site when the venue and program are released, then check Translink shortly before travelling. That is the time to choose between car and tram.
The useful decision comes earlier. Put 27 to 29 August 2027 in the calendar, allow enough nights to enjoy Main Beach as well as the Show, and reserve the apartment rather than relying on a last-minute search.
