# Gold Coast 500 2026: a balcony that looks down on the track

> The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 runs 23 to 25 October 2026. The southern hairpin of the street circuit sweeps past the end of our street – which means a wraparound balcony with a working view of race day.

The **Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500** returns on **23, 24 and 25 October 2026** for another round of Supercars racing on the Surfers Paradise street circuit. A 2.96-kilometre, 15-turn layout, two chicanes, support categories, and a weekend of V8 noise rolling through a beach-town spring. What most accommodation pages don't mention is that the southern boundary of the circuit runs along Breaker Street and swings past the Tedder Avenue end of Main Beach. The hairpin sits a few minutes' walk from the building – and from the upper levels, the wraparound balcony has a direct line of sight over the southern end of the track.

If you're planning a race weekend on the Gold Coast, that geography matters more than the number of stars on the hotel.

## The circuit, and where you sit on it

The 2026 circuit is the same 15-turn, 2.96-kilometre loop that's been used since 2010: up the Gold Coast Highway, across through Ferny Avenue, out along the Esplanade past the beachfront grandstands, and back south through the tight chicanes to Hairpin T14 at the Tedder Avenue end. The hairpin is the closest point on the circuit to Main Beach. Main Beach G:link station sits inside the course perimeter, a few hundred metres from the door.

Practically:

- The walk from the building to the **Main Beach entry gate** is around four to five minutes.
- Cars cannot cross the track during race sessions, but pedestrian access for residents and accommodation guests is maintained through designated resident gates on the Breaker Street and Cable Street side of the circuit. Supercars publishes the current year's community and traffic plan, including gate locations and ID requirements, at [supercars.com/gold-coast-resident-information](https://www.supercars.com/gold-coast-resident-information). Read it before travelling.
- **Surfers Paradise North station** is the best light-rail exit if you're sitting on the Esplanade side; **Main Beach station** is closer for the Hairpin, Coates Corner and Repco Corner grandstands.

If you've sat in Tuesday-night traffic trying to get off the Gold Coast Highway in race week before, you'll appreciate what the walking distance buys you at the end of each day.

## What the weekend actually looks like

The detailed session schedule is published on Supercars' event page closer to the date, but the shape of the three days has been stable for years:

- **Friday** is practice and qualifying. Quieter crowds, shorter queues, cheaper single-day general admission. A good day if you've got kids and want to wander the infield, the Gen3 display and the support-category pit walk without the Saturday crush.
- **Saturday** runs a full support-category card alongside championship-race day-one action. The paddock and fan zones are at their best.
- **Sunday** is the main championship race. Support racing, fireworks, the chequered-flag finish. The day to pick if you're only going once.

Across all three days, general admission from **AU$76 per day** lets you roam with a chair or a blanket and find a spot on a fence anywhere around the track. **Fanstand and grandstand** options start from **AU$93 per day**; the **Pit Lane Walk upgrade** from **AU$30** adds the behind-the-scenes access. Tickets and the current pricing live at [supercars.com](https://www.supercars.com/events/2026-gold-coast/tickets-and-packages).

Bring ear protection. V8s on a confined street circuit are louder than you remember.

## The balcony, and the honest disclosure

There's a reason interstate visitors come back to Contessa for race weekend. Apartments on the upper floors – two-bedroom apartments sit between levels 8 and 28 – have a working line of sight over the southern run of the circuit. A wraparound balcony catches both the track and the river behind it; bring an espresso out at 9 am and the whole shape of the morning's session is in front of you.

The honest part: the cars are loud, and they run from morning until late. Apartments at Contessa face a mix of directions – ocean, river, marina, gardens, city outlook – and not all of them face the circuit. Race-weekend noise reaches every balcony in some form regardless. If quiet is the priority of your trip, this is not the weekend. If you're here for the racing, you're staying on the right side of that trade.

## Getting around without the car

The G:link light rail is the single best decision you can make for the weekend. Translink typically publishes an expanded race-week timetable on the ridetheg.com.au site closer to the event, with **Main Beach** and **Surfers Paradise North** as the two stations bracketing the circuit. A **go explore pass** covers unlimited light rail and Translink bus travel on weekends and public holidays – the move if you want to venture further along the coast for dinner after the racing finishes.

Driving is an option, but parking inside the cordon is severely limited during race weekend and the one-way diversions change daily. Contessa includes **free undercover basement parking** with no booking required; leave the car there for the weekend and walk. Don't plan to move the car much between Friday morning and Sunday night; check Supercars' resident traffic plan for the exact access windows.

## Why book here, and book early

- A four-to-five-minute walk to the Main Beach entry gate end of the circuit.
- **Free undercover basement parking** included; leave the car and walk.
- **Fully equipped kitchens** in every apartment – oven, stovetop, dishwasher, full fridge – for the big race-morning breakfast and the proper meal after Sunday's chequered flag, when every Tedder Avenue restaurant is three deep at the door.
- **Two heated swimming pools** on site, indoor and outdoor, plus an indoor spa, outdoor spa and sauna. The recovery room after a long, hot day in the grandstand.
- **Wraparound balconies** on every apartment. Views vary apartment by apartment – ocean, river, marina, gardens, city – but the weekend's character reaches every balcony.
- A **boutique residence** of 124 apartments, only 10 of which are released for holiday stays. Race-weekend availability is genuinely limited; we present each apartment individually on the site, by number, with their own photo sets.

## Book for October 2026

**23 – 25 October 2026**. Check-in is 2 to 5 pm and check-out is 8 to 10 am; a Thursday-to-Monday stay sits cleanly against the race schedule. Full payment is taken 48 hours before arrival, not at booking.
